Kids Night Out – This includes children from A.C.T.A, Dance, Drumming, Ukulele and Guitar classes performing for the community

Friday 23rd May, 2014 – 7pm
Guest Band – The Latest Fallout performing new songs from their album!

Saturday 24th May, 2014 – 6.30pmShare a Little - A variety of groups to come together to share their performances.

Sunday 25th May, 2014 – 4pm
Grand Finale- In which everyone comes together to perform in a grand finale. Guest performers Mighty River Harmony.

SWEET CHARITY!

Future Te Aroha's first production of the year, Sweet Charity, is a musical about hope and resilience.
You will be delighted with the songs Rhythm of Life and Hey Big Spender, as we watch Charity search for her own true love.With an excellent cast directed by Marama Killen and choreography by Quintin Anderson, you will enjoy a night to remember, and go away smiling and humming the tunes!

Classes for 2014!

A.C.T.A –Mondays 4-5.15pm
Come along to our acting classes and give it a go! You may even discover a new passion!

Mask & Puppet Making – Mondays 5.45pm
Learn how to use and make Puppets and Masks to tell a story in a different and creative way! Make big puppets and amazing masks!

Dance – Tuesdays – Starting March 3rd
Starting in March we have a brand new experienced Dance tutor! Spaces are limited, so call us to reserve a place now!

Drums – Tuesdays 4-5pm
Have fun learning how to play the drums through all different kinds of ways!  Playing Bongo’s, boomwakas and the drum set!

Ukulele – Tuesdays 5-6pm
Try your hand at learning a new instrument! Learning the Ukulele is a great way to spark your musical interests!

Art – Wednesdays 4-5pm
Have fun creating your own pieces of work while learning new and creative ways to do it!

Guitar – Thursdays- Junior 4-4.45pm, Senior 5-6pm, Individual by appointment.
Come along and have fun learning the guitar!

The first Disco of 2014!

Our very first disco of 2014 is just around the corner!
The theme of this disco is 'Bright Night!' Where you come along dressed in your BRIGHTEST colours and dance the night away!
The date for this is the 28th of February and it starts at 6.30pm and goes until 8.15pm. It's $5 to come in. Anyone from years  2 - 8 can come along and join in the fun!
All children must arrive and leave with an adult.

WHATS ON AT FUTURE TE AROHA CENTRE

The Crazy Quest of Tim, Tom & Terri

Where will you find the ‘Great Rock'n'Roll Travelling Road Show Computer’, pirates, aliens, flames, rainbow people and creatures of the underground?
The answer – at Future Te Aroha in the show ‘The Crazy Quest of Tim, Tom and Terri’.

A young cast has been enthusiastically rehearsing for the last two months for their big production. This year they are being joined by the children of Morrinsville Theatre’s ‘Junior Drama’ group.

Four Shows only:
Future Te Aroha. Saturday Sept. 14th 6:30pm & Sunday Sept. 15th 3.00pm.
Morrinsville Little Theatre. Saturday Sept. 21st 6:30pm & Sunday Sept. 22nd 3:00pm

So come along and take part in the incredible journey ‘Tim, Tom and Terri’ have to make to find the answers required by the Great Rock'n'Roll Computer.

WANTED SINGERS to appear in Killer Karaoke In October. Test your ability to keep singing while being cajoled & tortured at the same time. The Killer karaoke is part of a variety concert to raise funds for the centre which takes place on Friday 4th October at 8.00pm. We also want local performers to participate. ALL NEW VOCAL GROUP: This is an exciting opportunity to work with vocal co-ordinator John Mullon on an experimental vocal project exploring contemporary pop and world music leading to a performance. No auditions needed just bring your enthusiasm. Secondary age upwards…… Start date Wed. 17th Sept.  6:30 – 8:00pm.

ATTENTION ALL MUSICIANS:
MUSICAL MONDAYS with Danny at 6:30pm. Whatever your instrument, come along & join in & make great sounds. Singers are also wanted to accompany the musicians or just come along & listen to the diverse sounds coming from the musicians.

UKULELE TUESDAYS with Dave at 6:30pm. Dave is working towards creating Te Aroha’s own Ukulele Orchestra. Have fun while learning together as a group.

ART FOR BEGINNERS & ART CLUB with Ruth at 6:00pm. Create art in a relaxed & informal atmosphere with likeminded people exploring different mediums.

Upcoming Fund Raising Event - watch this space

To help us raise money for the various projects we have on offer and the continual maintenance and upkeep of the building, we are having a fundraising weekend as part of the October ‘Aroha Cruise In.’ Te Aroha's successful annual classic car and motorcycle show. It is a chance for ‘Future Te Aroha’ to entertain, inspire and show the general public how the arts continue to enrich the local community as a whole....

As we tidy up after our last show of 2012 we would like to thank everyone who has taken part in our activities, productions, workshops, and used the centre over the past year. We couldn't do it without your help. It has certainly been a busy and fun filled year and we look forward to seeing you all after the holidays. Have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
